XP prof on a win2k domain - on network but client can’t log on?

Ok I am installing 7 new XP prof clients on a win2k server. Replacing all the old clients running win2k.

During setup on 1st client - user name is Dr. Geldernick, entered pw 1790. Went to Computer name and named it OBGYN3. Domain is int2.local. Asked for admin pw - entered - message "welcome to INT domain" and asked to restart. Did so….

Log on screen defaulted to:

User: Dr Geldernick
PW:
Log on: INT2

Keep getting message: "System cannot log you on because domain is not available"

Waited awhile - same thing. I can see OBGYN3 in Active Directory. All settings there match the other pc’s working fine. Restarted server - no dice.

What else can I try? Did not alter permissions for user - do I need to?

Thanks!!

Make sure the client has network connectivity to the domain controller and log in as local admin and try to join the domain again.

Good Luck.

  1. Make sure the client has network connectivity to the domain controller and log in as local admin and try to join the domain again.

    Good Luck.
