What exactly is a political commentator? What other jobs can you get with a major in political science?

I know that Steven Crowder is a political commentator, but can you explain what it is exactly? Also what other jobs can you get with a major in political science? Thank you! :)

Too many injuries in that job. Your leg starts to tingle and you become colorblind.

Political commentators point out and discuss items of interest that they notice in the day-to-day workings of the various levels of the government. They range from people on TV to people on the radio (example: Rush) to people who write columns for the newspapers or blogs on the internet.

Another occupation that springs from a Pol Sci degree is a position in the government. Many people who work in the local, state, or federal government civil service, as well as people who hold elected offices, have a Pol Sci degree.

In my opinion, a political commentator is an anchor person that covers politics. They are supposed to cover without bias to either party, but that depends on the affiliate they work for. For example, the FOX network would be slanted to Republicans.

I never liked political science. I tried taking a class in it once back in college and I had to withdraw because I found it extremely boring. However, I am guessing a political science major could work for a politician. Politicians that hold office needs a staff to handle constituent affairs and to run the office. Senator Kennedy had a huge staff up here in Boston and in his Senate office down in Washington. Eventually, you can branch out and run for office yourself or you could do well if the politician you work for gains higher office like President. You could end up working in the White House.

However, to get a commentator position you would probably have to have some type of exposure to national politics like serving as an advisor to a President like George Stephanopolos, David Gergin, etc.
